New Year Countdown

This long-distance date idea is perfect for couples who want to share the excitement of the countdown to the New Year, even from afar. We know long-distance can be difficult, especially when you miss the chance to see the fireworks together, experience the loudness of the crowd, or even miss your midnight kiss or hug with your loved one. However, this is such a fun and cute activity you can do to still feel connected and share the excitement of ringing in the New Year!

Instructions

Hop on a video call using Zoom, Google Meet, Discord, FaceTime, Microsoft Teams, or Skype.

Go to New Year’s Eve Countdown website

Click on the Time Schedule Tab, where you’ll be able to see all the different countries and time zones.

Select the country that will enter the New Year first between you and your partner.

The countdown will now appear as a graphic!

Share your screen so your partner can also see the countdown

To make it full screen, click on the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) on the left, and select fullscreen.

Repeat this process for your partner’s location to sync up their countdown.

Don’t forget to share a virtual kiss at midnight… 💋 and long-distance couples are lucky since they get to experience TWO midnight moments! 😘✨

🎆 Use cool filters on your video call, like fireworks, bubbles, or even Times Square-themed wallpaper.
